The writing corrector marks possible spelling, grammar, and style issues directly in the Markdown editor. It suggests fixes, but it does not rewrite your file by itself.
What It Does
- Underlines possible writing issues.
- Shows suggestions when you open correction actions.
- Applies a chosen suggestion as a normal undoable edit.
- Supports actions such as ignore and add to dictionary where available.
How To Use It
Open the Writing assists menu and turn on Corrector. When Iliad marks a word or phrase, click the mark to open suggestions. You can also use Cmd-. on macOS to open the current or next correction action when autocomplete is off; while autocomplete is on, Cmd-. asks for a paragraph suggestion unless you change that shortcut. The corrector runs locally and needs no API key. Choose Apply to insert a suggestion.
What To Expect
Corrections are explicit. Iliad does not auto-correct in the background and does not rewrite text on save.
The corrector tries to stay out of Markdown syntax. It avoids checking code fences, inline code, URLs, image paths, generated review blocks, and other ranges where ordinary prose rules would be noisy.
Limits
- English correction is the supported mode for now.
- The current word is not marked while you are typing it.
- Suggestions can be wrong; read the replacement before applying it.
- The corrector is not a full document rewrite tool.
- Applied fixes are local editor changes and can be undone.
